The Sensory Garden
Canterbury

A green tranquil environment has been created for children who may benefit from the sensory experience available by exploring and immersing themselves in it.

In particular, the garden is a useful resource for small groups of children with special needs and their teachers.
There is an emphasis on the use of a variety of landscaping materials, including gravel, decking, bark, granite, sand, pebbles and turf to provide sensory feedback, as do the numerous animal sculptures.

The garden provides a safe, welcoming experience which children—and adults— find calming.
It can be an enhancing and enriching time out.

This private garden, located in Canterbury, Melbourne, can be visited free of charge by appointment.
